SSU exposes businessman-collaborator who ‘exported’ Ukrainian grain from temporarily occupied Berdiansk to russia

The SSU has collected evidence against the owner of one of the leading agricultural holdings in Zaporizhzhia region, who organised supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to the aggressor state.

The suspected entrepreneur delivered to russia wholesale consignments of grain and horticultural products grown by his companies in the temporarily occupied territory of the region.

The SSU exposed the businessman-collaborator in Kyiv, where he moved from Berdiansk after it was occupied.

According to the investigation, after moving to the capital, the business owner set up remote control of his companies, operating in the occupied part of Ukraine.

To do this, he left his partner in Berdiansk, who is actually managing the entities.

For ‘unhindered’ business in the temporarily occupied territory, the suspects ‘re-registered’ their businesses under russian law and agreed to pay ‘taxes’ to the russian budget.

Among other things, they had a valid contract with the so-called ‘ministry of education and science of Zaporizhzhia region’.

The collaborators ‘exported’ the harvested agricultural products, primarily wheat, to the aggressor state through Berdiansk Port.

During the searches at the home and office of the owner of the agricultural holding in Kyiv, the law enforcement found cash, documents, seals and computer equipment with evidence of the crime.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served a notice of suspicion to the offender under Article 111-1.4 of the CCU (transfer of material resources to unlawful armed or paramilitary groups established in the temporarily occupied territory and/or armed or paramilitary groups of the aggressor state and/or conducting economic activity in cooperation with the aggressor state, illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory, including the occupation administration of the aggressor state).

His accomplice will be notified of suspicion shortly.

The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
