Cherkasy region: SBU disrupts large-scale forging of PCR test results

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the falsification of PCR test results in Cherkasy region. Every month, the dealers forged up to 100 certificates, including foreign ones for travel abroad.

The scheme was organized by a lawyer from a local company. Using personal contacts with representatives of several medical laboratories, she set up the production of forged certificates with negative COVID-19 test results.

The organizer of the scheme offered ready-made forged certificated to clients, including tourists planning to go abroad. The cost of the "certificate" depended on its urgency and the country of destination.

According to the intelligence, the monthly "profit" of the dealers amounted to almost UAH 100,000 (USD 3,700).

The organizer of the scheme handed forged certificates to customers during meetings in coffee houses.

The offender is to be served a notice of suspicion of forgery of documents, stamps, seals and letterheads, and sale or use of forged documents. The investigation is ongoing to prosecute other persons involved in the illegal activities.

The operation was carried out by officers of the SBU Office in Cherkasy region together with National Police investigators under the supervision of the Cherkasy Region Prosecutor's Office.
