SSU cracks down forging of PCR test results
In Kharkiv region, the SSU exposed and cracked down another forging scheme of PCR test results. The perpetrators produced up to 600 forged certificates per month for travelling abroad, including international ones.
Two employees of a travel agency jointly with a private medical laboratory organized the scam. Selling the foreign tours, the perpetrators offered their customers to buy the negative PCR test results.
The clients used forged documents to cross the border, as well as to avoid mandatory 14-day self-isolation.
After the full prepayment, the perpetrators send data to the medical laboratory, where the forged PCR tests were given without the examinations. The illegal scheme allowed to enter inaccurate data into the medical system eHealth, from which the information was sent in the app Vdoma.
Allegedly, the perpetrators earned more than UAH 500,000 (USD 19,000).
During the searches at the medical laboratory, office of the travel agency and at the places of residence of the defendants, law enforcement officers seized forged PCR test results, electronic storage devices, draft records with the evidence of illegal activities.
Currently, within the criminal proceedings, the issue of serving the perpetrators suspicion notice is to be resolved.
The operation was carried out jointly with the investigators of the National Police under the supervision of the Saltivska District Prosecutor’s Office.
