The SBU suspects officials of a district state administration in Cherkasy region of corruption. Allegedly, they conspired with a manager of an agricultural company and stole about UAH 4 m (USD 144,000) allocated within the national horticultural program.

SBU officers established that the said manager entered false data on the volume of performed work into documents and requested to compensate incurred losses. His accomplices granted the request.

During urgent investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized all documents proving illegal activity from offices of the district state administration and the company.

SBU investigators served offenders suspicion notices for embezzlement, forgery in office and neglect of official duty.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Directorate of Economic Counterintelligence Protection of State's Interests jointly with the SBU Office in Cherkasy region under the supervision of the Cherkasy region Prosecutor's Office.
