In Cherkasy region, the SSU Counterintelligence exposed an official who called for assisting russian occupation forces in capturing the region.

The person in question also justified missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and killing of civilians. The traitor denied the involvement of invaders in their war crimes in Bucha.

According to the investigation, the enemy’s accomplice is an employee of local government, involved in registration of persons of call-up age.

After the full-scale aggression began, he ‘launched a campaign’ in support of the occupiers and persistently spread his destructive narratives in his circle.

The traitor openly supported the aggressor’s policy and planned to assist the enemy in the war against our country if the region is captured.

During the search of the suspect, the law enforcement found a mobile phone and computer equipment with evidence of unlawful activity.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the individual of suspicion of crime under Articles 436-2.1, 436-2.3 of the CCU (justifying, recognizing as lawful, denying russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants). Court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
