In the Donetsk region, the SBU prevented the illegal privatization of state lands. Former and current officials of the State Geocadastre unlawfully alienated more than 150 hectares of state land. The estimated value of land plots is over UAH 4.5 m (USD 170,000).

The SBU CI and cyber specialists found out that the perpetrators entered false data of ATO / JFO participants, without their knowledge, into the relevant information and telecommunication systems of the State Geocadastre. Then the allocated land plots were transferred to third parties.

During the searches of the suspects’ offices and residences in the cities of Kramatorsk and Mariupol, the law enforcement seized computers and documents proving the illegal land privatization.

The investigation is ongoing to prosecute all those involved in the illegal scheme.

The operation was carried out jointly with the National Police investigators under the supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
