SSU exposes dealer who circumvented NSDC sanctions and supplied components for russian military submarines
The SSU Cyber Security Department has stopped the unlawful activities of a Ukrainian businessman who, despite the ban of the National Security and Defence Council, supplied dual-use goods to russia. These components were used on the russian navy submarines, which are involved in missile attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
According to the investigation, the offender is a resident of Kharkiv region.
To circumvent the ban on military and technical cooperation with russia, he set up his own company, which purchased dual-use goods from Ukrainian enterprises and supplied them to russia under the guise of ‘civilian devices.’
However, as the SSU established, the products were actually used to equip the fleet of the aggressor state – submarines, from which russians launch missiles at Ukraine.
After the full-scale invasion, the businessman tried to establish a new channel to deliver the goods to russia through third states. However, the SSU prevented this.
The offender was served a notice of suspicion under Article 333 of the CCU (violation of procedure for international transfer of goods subject to state export control).
The crime is punishable by up to 5 years of restriction of liberty.
The SSU Cyber Security Department exposed the offender jointly with investigators of the SSU Kyiv Office under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
