SSU exposes dealers who ‘issued’ Ukrainian passports to russian saboteurs
The SSU has exposed a group of criminals who helped russian citizens legitimize in Ukraine and forged for them Ukrainian passports. Among their clients were russians who conducted intelligence and subversive activities for the occupiers.
According to the investigation, the scheme was organized by a former tax official from Donetsk who, after temporary occupation of this city, moved to Kharkiv.
The fraudster used his personal connections in the law enforcement to ‘issue’ fake documents charging USD 4,000 for a ‘passport.’
The SSU documented handing over of USD 3,000 to him as an advance payment.
According to the SSU information, the ‘client’ who ordered this passport carried out intelligence and subversive activities for russian special services and tried to get a ‘legal’ status in Ukraine.
The SSU caught the individual who produced the fake documents red-handed when he was collecting the rest of the payment for his ‘services’.
Currently, investigators are preparing a notice of suspicion under the Article 369-2.3 of the CCU.
The investigation into russian citizen, who ‘ordered’ a Ukrainian passport, and other individuals who got passports from this group is ongoing.
The SSU Internal Security Department carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
