The SSU has identified several suspects who helped men of call-up age to leave Ukraine without legal grounds. The cost of their ‘services’ ranged from USD 4,000 to 15,000 depending on the region and the risk for the ‘client’.

In Mykolaiv region:

The organizer of such scheme was a local resident. In collusion with Moldovan citizens, he carried out unimpeded transportation of potential conscripts to a neighboring country outside the established checkpoints.

He estimated his services at USD 6,000 and looked for ‘clients’ among his acquaintances.

In the course of the operation, the SSU documented the hand-over of the payment for the ‘transfer’ to the suspect.

The SSU also detained the ‘escort group’ that was supposed to ensure an unhindered crossing of the border.

The organizer and one of his accomplices, a citizen of Moldova, have been notified of suspicion of unlawful transportation of persons across the state border (Article 332.3 of the CCU).

The operation was carried out by the SSU Main Internal Security Directorate in cooperation with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.

In Kyiv:

The organizer turned out to be a former assistant to an MP from the Opposition Block, political party banned in Ukraine.

As an employee of a medical municipal institution of Kyiv City State Administration, he used his powers to issue documents exempting conscripts from service in the Armed Forces.

As a bonus, he offered ‘assistance’ in crossing the state border, charging USD 15,200 for his ‘services.’

The law enforcement caught the perpetrator red-handed: while receiving USD 7,700 as a payment for fake documents.

The fraudster has been notified of suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border (Article 332.3 of the CCU).

The investigation is ongoing to identify all individuals involved including those who ordered fake documents.

The operation was carried out by the SSU together with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.

In Lviv:

The perpetrator turned out to be a local resident who, for USD 4,000, counterfeited documents for his ‘clients’ that were supposed to prove their unfitness for military service.

Thanks to the SSU’s prompt response, he did not manage to produce a single fake.

The SSU caught him on his ‘first order’, when the suspect received an advance payment.

The detainee has been notified of suspicion of unlawful transportation of persons across the state border (Article 332.3 of the CCU). The court has decided to keep him in custody. The investigation is underway.
