SSU exposes Dnipro-based company that helped ruscists build nuclear labs
The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed a company in Dnipropetrovsk region that helps russia build laboratories where the enemy develops nuclear weapons.
According to the investigation, the organizer of the scheme is the owner of a Ukrainian building materials company.
After the onset of the full-scale war, the plant transported a large-scale batch of finished stainless steel profiles to russia.
The occupiers used the Ukrainian metal products to equip the office premises of the russian institute for nuclear research.
On its basis, the adversary develops projects for new models of nuclear-tipped missiles.
To conceal cross-border deliveries, the dealers first sent the goods to a controlled company in the Middle East, and from there re-exported them to russian customers.
According to the investigation, the financial records of both companies were kept by the chief accountant of the Ukrainian company.
During the searches at the company’s addresses and in the suspects’ homes, the SSU found mobile phones, computer equipment and documentation with evidence of their criminal activity for russia’s benefit.
SSU investigators served the owner of the manufacturing company and three of his subordinates notices of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).
The decision on custody as a measure of restraint is pending. The suspects face up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
