SSU exposes two russian spies who planned infiltration of Kyiv defence plant

The SSU identified another two russian officials involved in intelligence and subversive activities against Ukraine.

One of them is colonel Dmitryi Guliy, an employee of the main directorate for international military cooperation of russia’s ministry of defence.

The other is Vitaliy Tekhtelev, deputy director of the legal department of russia’s ministry of economic development.

The investigation established that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion they had remotely recruited a resident of Kyiv. Soon, the officials instructed the man to get a job in one of the defence companies in Kyiv oblast. The ultimate goal for the asset was to collect and pass intelligence to russia.

In this way, the enemy was trying to obtain classified information on Ukrainian weapons supplied to the Defence Forces.

The agent’s handlers were also interested in the consequences of russian missile strikes on Kyiv’s critical infrastructure.

In February 2023, the SSU detained the aggressor’s agent and notified him of suspicion of high treason.

In the course of the investigation, the SSU interrogated the suspect and identified his ‘supervisors’ from russia.

For communication, the traitor used a messenger app.

In case Kyiv is captured, he was promised support from the occupiers.

Based on the collected evidence, the SSU notified Guliy and Tekhtelev of suspicion under Articles 28.2 and 114.1 of the CCU (espionage committed upon prior conspiracy by a group of persons).

The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Vinnytsia region carried out the operation and investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
