The SBU exposed a manager of Cherkasy municipal enterprise on illegal campaigning in favor of a political force.

Allegedly, the offender is a deputy of Cherkasy City Council and is running in local elections. In August 2020, he concluded the contracts with several companies for the production of promotional materials worth over UAH 80,000 (USD 2,800).

In addition to official information about the enterprise activities, on billboards was placed a hidden promotion of a party.

In particular, the billboards contained a link to his personal web page that consists colors and symbols of the political force. He plans to run again for the city council.

Such hidden promotion is a direct violation of the Law of Ukraine on Political Parties in Ukraine.

The deputy received a notice of suspicion of violation of election funding campaign of candidate, political party (block).

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Cherkasy Local Prosecutor's Office.
