SSU detains rosposhta ex-chief who acted during Izium’s occupation

As a result of stabilization measures in the liberated districts of Kharkiv oblast, the SSU has uncovered another collaborator.

The suspect is the former chief the ‘russian post office branch’ in Izium.

Before the full-scale invasion, the woman was an employee at one of Ukrposhta branches. After the town was captured, she supported the invaders and offered them assistance in the war against Ukraine.

For this, she was appointed to a senior position.

Then, the ‘postal official’ organized delivery of russian propaganda newspapers to local households.

Accompanied by armed occupiers, the collaborator forcibly distributed kremlin ‘publications’ to all visitors of the seized post office.

In these paper editions, russian authors justified russia’s full-scale invasion, praised local gauleiters and called people to support the invaders.

The ‘postmaster’ also tried to put postage stamps and envelopes with the aggressor’s symbols into circulation.

After Izium’s de-occupation, she tried to evade justice by pretending to be ‘beyond politics’.

However, the SSU collected evidence of her unlawful activity and detained her.

SSU investigators have now notified her of suspicion under Articles 27.5, 28.2 and 111-1.6 of the CCU (collaboration by aiding the information activities in cooperation with the aggressor state, committed upon prior conspiracy).

The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing.

The stabilization measures were carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
