SBU exposes group of companies on saling software developed by Russian intelligence services
SBU cyber specialists exposed illegal activities of a group of companies that sold software developed by Russian intelligence services.
SBU operatives established that the perpetrators managed to release more than 100 software products that were implemented into information systems, including those of state agencies. These programs secretly gathered information and transferred users’ history to the servers controlled by Russian intelligence services.
The examination confirmed that the software products were spyware and were developed and used for the interests of the enemy’s services.
During the searches of the companies’ offices in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions SBU seized equipment, belongings and documents proving the illegal activities.
The operatives are currently identifying all buyers of the spyware and assist in erasing their data from information systems.
The organizer of the group was served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 359 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing to prosecute other suspects.
