The SBU blocked corruption at the institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. The management systematically extorted money for illegal lease of institution premises.

Allegedly, the director of the institute demanded money from a local businessman. The official involved the chief accountant and a lawyer of the institution in unlawful activities.

For monthly bribes, the entrepreneur could rent the office and warehouses of the institution (total area of 195 sq.m) in the city of Boryspil.

Law enforcement officers detained three organizers after giving the next amount of bribe. The offenders received suspicion notices.

Investigation is ongoing within the criminal proceeding initiated for taking a bribe.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Main Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region jointly with investigators of the regional National Police Department, under the supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
