SBU exposes former sniper of “LNR” terrorist organization hiding in Kharkiv city
SBU exposed a former member of the “LNR” terrorist organization, who was fighting against ATO forces in Luhansk region.
Allegedly, a Kharkiv resident joined the illegal armed formation and was appointed “commander of the 6th Separate Motorized Rifle Cossack Regiment named after Platov” in 2015. Later, he voluntarily transferred to a reconnaissance company, received special sniper training and took the position of "scout sniper." From August 2015 to July 2016, being a member of the subversive groups, the militant performed tasks along the contact line. Being a member of a sniper team, he deliberately targeted servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the town of Zolote.
Having resigned from the “service”, the suspect returned to Kharkiv. He had a string of temporary jobs, hiding from law enforcement officers.
The former militant was served suspicion notice of trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and participation in illegal armed groups.
Measures to expose the perpetrator were conducted by the SBU Department of National Statehood Protection under the supervision of the Luhansk Region Prosecutor's Office.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
