SBU exposes corruption during real estate registration

The SBU exposed corruption by a state registrar of the Administrative Service Center in Dnipropetrovsk region. The official and his associate organized a scam during real estate registration. As a result, they gained UAH tens of millions.

According to the investigation, the official extorted locals for registration of real estate. His associate, a former employee of a district council, rented an office for work with customers. Their services were estimated at UAH tens of thousands.

The scam has been effective for two years with UAH 500,000 (USD 18,000) profits monthly.

The SBU officers documented the illegal registration of 11 real estate entities. They detained the offenders red handed.

During authorized searches, the SBU seized cash, seals of other organizations, including state ones, and draft documents proving the illegal activity.

Both offenders were served suspicion papers for bribetaking.

The investigation is ongoing to prosecute all involved individuals.

The operation was carried under the supervision of the Dnipropetrovsk region Prosecutor`s Office.
