SBU exposes influential drug gang leaders

The SBU blocked activities of organized groups selling drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors in Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions. It was also established that the criminals were spreading their criminal influence in the public life of the region.

Cherkasy region:

The law enforcement exposed the organizers of the drug gang. The gang consisted of six members. The offenders sold drugs via a cache system. The perpetrators looked for their “clients” in closed groups of popular messengers and received money on bank cards.

It was established that the leaders of the group did much to crime situation of the region.

Currently, the offenders have been served notices of suspicion of intentional establishment or spread of criminal influence in society.

The sanction of the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides 7 - 10 years of imprisonment with seizure of property.

Kirovohrad region:

The SBU officers detained 5 organizers and active members of the interregional drug group. The attackers sold wholesale consignments of psychotropic drugs in the Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions.

Allegedly, the offenders set up a drug laboratory for the production of amphetamine and methamphetamine for sale. They sold the finished “goods” via an extensive network of drug dealers.

During 10 searches of the perpetrators’ residences, the law enforcement officers found:

  • a large number of precursors;
  • a batch of psychotropic drugs prepared for sale;
  • equipment for the drug manufacturing and packaging;
  • bank cards and means of communication with evidence of illegal activity.

The offenders were served a notice of suspicion of illegal production, making, purchasing, storage, transportation, sending or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues.

The sanction of the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides 6-10 years of imprisonment with seizure of property.

The investigation is ongoing in order to prosecute all those involved in the drug trade.
