SSU exposes another russian propaganda network
In Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions, the SSU has exposed yet another network of Internet agents spreading russian propaganda.
These persons justified russia’s armed aggression against our country.
In Dnipropetrovsk region:
Over the last few days, the SSU exposed three supporters of kremlin narratives.
One of them is an entrepreneur from Dnipro. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the man was engaged in active propaganda as he was sure that the ‘russkiy mir’ [russian world] would come quickly. He publicly campaigned calling citizens to support occupation of Ukrainian territories.
Another enemy agitator is a businessman from Kryvyi Rih, who regularly went to russia for work. This significantly influenced his political views and preferences. In social networks, he actively promoted content that discredited Ukrainian authorities and the Armed Forces. The propagandist justified the enemy’s criminal actions and called to support russian army.
An employee of an enterprise in Kryvyi Rih also held pro-russian views, but for a long time was not expressing them openly.
After February 24, his Internet activity increased. Almost daily, he published anti-Ukrainian content, approving of russia’s armed aggression, calling the occupiers ‘liberators’ and discrediting Ukrainian military.
In Poltava region:
The SSU notified another 4 persons of suspicion of crime as they were openly spreading manipulative information on the situation in Ukraine.
For example, a teacher at a Poltava educational institution promoted russian narratives during classes. In particular, she spread false information about the alleged use by Ukrainian servicemen of psychological pressure and physical influence on captured occupiers. She recognized the occupation of Ukrainian territories as legitimate.
Another person involved is a russian citizen who came to live with his mother in Ukraine. The man supported the invading troops and campaigned for the introduction of russian ruble in Ukraine.
The SSU blocked the anti-Ukrainian activities of two more residents of Poltava region in the Internet.
Investigators documented that the propagandists posted destructive content on personal and fake pages and in communities with thousands of subscribers in banned russian social networks.
Within the pre-trial investigations, the SSU conducted searches at suspects’ homes and seized computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of unlawful activity.
The law enforcement agencies have collected sufficient evidence in all described cases to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The SSU Offices in Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions have carried out investigations jointly with the SBI under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
