The SBU exposed the management of Zaporizzhia airport on massive fraud. As a result, the state budget has lost over UAH 9 m. (USD 333,333).

Allegedly, the official of Zaporizzhia International Airport ignored the poor-quality repairs of runway, which were made in 2017-2018. Instead of requiring the contractor to fulfill a call-back warranty, the offender found a new company that fixed the defective work.

Due to such actions, a municipally owned corporation overpaid twice the cost of work. Therefore, the state-budget suffered multi-million losses.

Within the initiated criminal proceedings, SBU investigators served the official a suspicion notice of neglect of official duty.

Investigative actions are underway to establish all the circumstances of the offense and bring to justice other people involved in the unlawful activities.

The operation was carried out the SBU Office in the Zaporizzhia region jointly with the SBU Main Department for CI Protection of State Economic Interests, under the supervision of the Zaporizzhia Region Prosecutor's Office.
