In Derhachi, the SSU cracked down the scheme of misappropriation of budget funds allocated for preschool reconstruction. The total amount of money laundered is UAH 2 m. (USD 76,200).

Allegedly, the SSU documented the head of the commercial entity to be involved into criminal activity. In 2019, the perpetrator signed a treaty with the representatives of the Derhachi Town State Administration to conduct the local preschool reconstruction.

Under the treaty, the contractors were to increase energy efficiency of the building, including insulation of its faucets and replacing of old windows with new ones.

The perpetrators failed to fulfill the requirements providing false data on volume and expense of repairing work and, then, moved allocated funds into the shadow.

The head of the commercial entity is served a notice of suspicion of misappropriation. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided.

The investigation action is ongoing to prosecute those involved into criminal activity.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the investigators of the National Police under the supervision of the Derhachivskyi District Prosecutor`s Office of Kharkiv region.
