Poltava oblast: SSU exposes dealers supplying special equipment for S-300 missile systems to russia
In Poltava region, the SSU shut down a scheme of illegal supply of critical export goods to the aggressor state.
The scheme was organized by the head of a local diamond tool manufacturer and his accomplice, who has his business in russia.
The dealers set up a mechanism for covertly smuggling products that are also used by enterprises of russian military-industrial complex.
Among the ‘customers’ of the goods was Kursk Electrical Equipment Plant, to which they sent tools for manufacturing energy protection systems at the russian navy facilities.
The ‘entrepreneurs’ also had contact with the moscow-based enterprise NPP Toriy, which manufactures components for russian S-300 and S-400 missile systems.
As a result of the operation, the SSU prevented export of over 100 units in a new batch of goods to the enemy.
To operate the scheme, the dealers first sent the products to their accomplices in a country in the South Caucasus.
From there, the shipments were forwarded to a controlled commercial entity in russia.
During the searches of the suspects’ production and office premises, the SSU found:
- documents with evidence of the crime;
- seals of russian companies controlled by the dealers, which sold the products in russia;
- ammunition for a Kalashnikov rifle.
Both ‘businessmen’ have been notified of suspicion under Article 111-1.4 of the CCU (collaboration). The director of the enterprise was additionally declared suspect under Article 263.1 of the CCU (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives).
Court is to choose a measure of restraint for the suspects.
The investigation is underway.
The SSU Poltava Office carried out operational and investigative activities under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
