SBU exposes attackers on Deputy Chairman of Asset recovery and management agency (video)

The SBU identified and exposed people who caused grievous bodily harm to Deputy Chairman of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) Volodymyr Pavlenko. Allegedly, three people were involved in the attack, two of which - criminals.

During the investigation, the SBU found that the masterminds wanted the attacker to intimidate the man by inflicting grievous bodily harm. In particular, the detainee was first required to beat the victim and cut off his ear or finger. However, masterminds then ordered to shoot in his arm and leg.

The attacker received prepayment (USD 10,000) before commission of the crime. Masterminds also provided information about the victim's personality, lifestyle, vehicles, residence, office, schedule, etc.

During crime scene simulation, the version of the investigation was confirmed.

Law enforcement officers conducted searches of the masterminds’ and attacker’s residences in Kyiv and Odesa. Three offenders received suspicion notices of preparation for a crime; intented grievous bodily harm. A type of detention is being chosen.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Main Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime jointly with the Pechersk National Police Directorate under the supervision of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv.
