SSU exposes UOC-MP rector who praised invaders and wished for occupation of Vinnytsia region

The SSU has documented subversive activities of another cleric of the Vinnytsia diocese of moscow patriarchate’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

This is the rector of a church in Kalynivka deanery who publicly justified russia’s armed aggression and waited for the occupiers in Vinnytsia region.

In his communication with the parishioners, the archpriest praised putin and called to support the ruscists.

He also disseminated pro-kremlin narratives among the religious community via Telegram.

The SSU-initiated examination confirmed his criminal actions aimed at undermining the socio-political situation in the region.

During the searches of the suspect’s home, the SSU seized a mobile phone and computer equipment used to spread russian propaganda.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the cleric a notice of suspicion under Article 436-2.1, 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The suspect is under round-the-clock house arrest and faces 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
