The SBU exposed an organized group that offered positions of state officials, ostensibly having connections in the government. For USD 3.5m., they "offered" the post of the Head of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration.

During the pre-trial investigation, the SBU established that a resident of the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region organized the scheme. The woman coordinated the activities of the accomplices by phone.

SBU operatives recorded that a public activist, the head of a number of charitable and anti-corruption organizations, participated in the illegal business.

During the “interviews” with candidates for the state posts, he introduced himself as an Advisor to the President of Ukraine and claimed that he coordinates appointments of high-ranking officials with the leadership of the National Security and Defense Council and the Office of the President.

The law enforcement officers detained two offenders after receiving the full sum of bribe in a Kyiv bank.

The investigation is ongoing. The detainees are to be served suspicion notices of undue influence.

The operation was carried out jointly with investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kirovohrad region under the supervision of Kirovohrad Region Prosecutor's Office.
