SSU exposes Odesa company that supplied raw materials for laser sights to russia
The SSU exposed the management of a unique Ukrainian enterprise in Odesa on cooperation with the aggressor state.
The company sold to the enemy high-purity inert gas and equipment for its processing, used by russia’s in its military-industrial complex.
Such gases are needed in the process of manufacturing laser sights for enemy tanks and high-precision weapons.
The Ukrainian enterprise is unique in its capabilities: it can purify inert gases up to over 90%. In russia, local plants achieve only 60% purification.
For this reason, the enemy tried to retain control over the Ukrainian company. To do this, in 2022, the actual owners of the institution, who are russia citizens, formally resold its assets to a Cypriot company and hired Ukrainian management to run the entity.
In March last year, the russian beneficiaries registered an affiliated commercial entity in the Middle East to ensure unimpeded export of raw materials to customers in russia.
This company subsequently purchased the goods from the Odesa enterprise and transported them to russia.
During the searches of the production facilities, suspects’ offices and homes, the SSU found documents with evidence of such unlawful activities.
The head of the Ukrainian company has been notified of suspicion under the two Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1.4 (collaboration);
- 111-2.1 (aiding the aggressor state).
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the involved to justice.
The SSU conducted the investigation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
