During a special operation, the SSU discovered a warehouse for illegal storage of weapons and ammunition, organized by one of the volunteer formations in Kyiv.

During the search, over 60 unregistered Kalashnikov assault rifles and almost 1,000 rounds of ammunition for them were seized.

These firearms could be used to commit serious and especially serious crimes.

To pre-empt threats, the SSU seized the weapons.

The seized items have been sent for forensic examination.

Criminal proceedings were opened under Article 263 of the CCU (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the offence and bring the involved to justice.

The operation was carried out by the SSU under the procedural supervision of Desnyanskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv.
