Since russia launched its full-scale invasion, the SSU Cyber Security Department has exposed over 1,200 agitators who spread fakes and russian narratives on the Internet. Almost 600 of them have already received notices of suspicion.

The Chief of the SSU Cyber Security Department Illia Vitiuk spoke about this on air of the We-Ukraine TV channel.

‘The SSU exposes traitors, enemy agitators and collaborators operating in the Internet. Today we have almost 1,200 criminal proceedings on them, 600 persons have been notified of suspicion and almost 230 have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment,’ Illia Vitiuk informed.

He added that now russian information sabotage did not pose such a threat as before. One of the reasons is that the SSU is proactive - trying to stay ahead of the curve instead of dealing with the consequences.

Illia Vitiuk also emphasized that the SSU conducted its own special information operations to reduce the influence of russian propaganda.

‘This year, we have blocked 45 large-scale bot farms with a capacity of over 2 million fake accounts, almost 500 pro-russian Youtube channels with 15 million subscribers and about 1,000 information resources that worked against Ukraine,’ Illia Vitiuk noted.

The Chief of the SSU Cyber Security Department underscored that the powerful cyber resistance is the outcome of interaction of many people and organizations, because our citizens have become a real cyber Territorial Defence force.
