SBU operatives exposed officials of the Kozyn village council and the State Land Agency Department in Obukhiv district on multi-million dollar fraud with elite land plots located in Koncha Zaspa village.

Law enforcement established that the officials, abusing their offices, leased recreational land plots (27 hectares) to one of Kyiv entreprises for 49 years.

According to experts, the average market value of this land tops UAH 600 million (USD 21 million). On several land plots there are leisure bases that belong to JSC Ukrposhta.

The SBU conducted the searches in the premises of the village council and a notary who is involved in crime. Law enforcement officers found and seazed documents proving illegal activity.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing for abuse of authority or office.

Measures are currently being taken to return land plots to the ownership of the territorial community. According to the court's decision, the land plots were seized and a ban on their alienation was imposed.

The operation was conducted by the Main Directorate of counter-intelligence protection of state economic interests jointly with the Main National Police Department in Kyiv city under the supervision of the Kyiv Local Prosecutor’s Office.
