The SSU exposed illegal activity of officials of Odesa branch of a state enterprise that falls within the remit of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Construction and technical examination indicated that the offence led to state losses of over UAH 10 mln (USD 380,000).

According to the investigation, officials of the state-owned vehicle maintenance company abused their position to illegally hand over 1,000 square meters of office and storage facilities to local entrepreneurs.

The entrepreneurs have been renting these premises for two years. However, the rent was paid not to the state, but to the mentioned officials.

The former acting branch director has been notified of suspicion of official negligence.

The investigation into embezzlement and abuse of office is underway to identify all the individuals involved.

The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation under the supervision of Odesa Region Prosecutor’s Office.
