The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the officials of Polissya customs on corruption during customs clearance of cars.

Within the initiated criminal proceedings, SBU operatives and investigators established that the defendants carried out customs clearance, significantly underestimating the vehicles’ cost. According to preliminary estimates, the illegal activities of customs officers caused losses to the state of almost UAH 103 million (USD 3.7 million).

SBU officers conducted 23 searches at offenders’ residences and the customs “Lutsk”, “Rivne”, “Dubno”, “Sarny”. Law enforcement officers seized business documents, license plates of vehicles, customs and commercial documents, communications tools, and computer equipment that confirms illegal transactions during customs clearance and losses to the budget.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime jointly with the SBU Office of Rivne region under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Rivne region.
