SSU exposes officials of Ukrainian holding building shipyard for russian warships

The SSU has collected evidence on top management of a Ukrainian construction holding that is working for the enemy and financing russia’s armed aggression.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, an organized group headed by the business owner has concluded six contracts with russian customers worth almost RUB 100 bln (USD 722 mln).

These are contracts for the construction of a ship repair plant to maintain ships of Novorossiysk naval base and the FSB border guard department.

They also implemented several projects to build the moscow metro.

According to the available information, the main suspect in the case is planning to contract the reconstruction of the russian submarine shipyard in St Petersburg.

The investigation established that the russian branch of the holding regularly pays billions of rubles to the budget of the aggressor state.

To conceal their illegal activities in russia, the businessmen involved acted through offshore companies.

During the searches of the suspects’ offices and homes in Kyiv, the SSU found computer equipment, flash drives and documents confirming the unlawful activity, as well as gold bars and almost USD 700,000.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served three persons involved notices of suspicion under the Articles of the CCU:

  • the owner of the construction holding company - under 27.3, 28.3,111-1.4 (organization of economic activity in cooperation with the aggressor state, committed by an organized group), 111-2.1 (aiding the aggressor state);
  • the director of one of the enterprises and the chief accountant of the russian branch - under 27.2, 28.3, 111-1.4 (organization of economic activity in cooperation with the aggressor state committed by an organized group).

The investigation is ongoing. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
