The SBU cyber specialists blocked the scheme of unauthorized interference in the database of law enforcement and supervisory bodies. Among the organizers of the group are government officials who sold classified information to their customers.

The operatives documented that the members of the interregional group systematically withdrew information from the databases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Migration, Tax and Border Guard Services.

The SBU documented involvement of the law enforcement and supervisory officers in this scheme.

Six searches of the offenders’ residences and offices were conducted in Kyiv, Kherson and Kirovohrad regions. During the investigation, the law enforcement seized:

• laptops;
• bank cards;
• printouts of illegal extracts from databases;
• other evidence of illegal activity.

The investigation is ongoing upon the fact of unauthorized interference with the operation of computers, automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks by prior conspiracy.

All those involved in the scheme are identified.

The offenders were exposed by the SBU Office in Sumy region jointly with the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation, located in city of Kyiv under supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
