The SBU exposed the President of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine on taking bribes in especially large amounts.
Allegedly, the official received an elite car for shortlisting a candidate for an academic position. For the “gift”, he also guaranteed the further transfer of the necessary materials to the Presidium of NAAS of Ukraine.
Currently, the official was served a notice of suspicion of taking a bribe. The issue of choosing a type of detention is being resolved.
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case and bring to justice all those involved.
The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Interests in the Sphere of Economic Security jointly with the National Police under the supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
