The SBU documented a large-scale misappropriation of budget funds allocated for construction of social facilities for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to intelligence, officials of the Apartment Management Unit organized the illegal business. They acted in collusion with contractors.

SBU officers and investigators documented that the organizers entered inflated cost of materials, as well as false data about the amount of work performed into the work completion certificates. According to experts, they misappropriated over UAH 1.8 m. (USD 64,285).

Currently, one of the contractors received a suspicion notice of misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by malversation and forgery in office.

A type of detention is to be chosen.

The investigation is ongoing to establish other episodes of criminal activity and to prosecute other persons involved in the illegal business.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Office in Lviv region under the supervision of Lviv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the military and defense sphere of the Western region.
