SBU exposes corruption by university official

The SBU blocked corruption in a private university. For bribes, the adviser to the rector guaranteed to issue diplomas without actual study and passing exams.

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained the official on receiving another part of the illegal benefit.

Allegedly, the woman promised previously expelled students to return to university and receive graduation certificates outside avoiding mandatory requirements.

The cost of "services" started from USD 1,500. SBU officers documented several bribery cases.

Currently, the SBU served the detainee a suspicion notice of taking a bribe. A type of detention is being chosen. The investigative actions are underway to bring to justice other persons involved in the organization of illegal activities.

The operation was carried out by officers of the SBU Main Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region jointly with the National Police and under the supervision of the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi District Prosecutor's Office.
