SSU detains repeat offender who helped ruscists set minefields during occupation of Kharkiv region

The SSU has apprehended another enemy accomplice who voluntarily collaborated with the aggressor during temporary occupation of Kharkiv oblast.

The perpetrator is a 29-year-old resident of a village in Bohodukhiv district, who had previously been convicted of serious crimes.

After the settlement was occupied, he helped the invaders navigate the area and choose sites for setting up minefields.

Among places that the ruscists mined were local roads used by civilians.

The traitor also provided the occupiers with addresses of members of the resistance movement in the district. Then, the enemy soldiers kidnapped the residents and imprisoned them in russian torture chambers.

The recidivist, together with the occupiers, looted homes of fellow villagers who had left for Ukraine-controlled territory. They stole cars, household appliances, furniture and other private property.

After the liberation of the area, the aggressor’s accomplice tried to go into hiding and evade justice. However, the SSU found and detained him.

The collaborator was served a notice of suspicion under Article 111-2 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state). The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison.

The stabilisation activities were carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Bohodukhiv District Prosecutor’s Office.
