SSU exposes russian agent network which included officials of Cabinet of Ministers and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine (video)

The FSB espionage network was carrying out intelligence and subversive activity in Ukrainian governmental authorities.

To neutralize it, the SSU Counterintelligence has conducted a multi-stage special operation.

As a result, head of a unit of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and head of a directorate of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry were detained in Kyiv.

These officials passed various intelligence to the enemy: regarding the state of defence capabilities, arrangement of the state border and personal data of Ukrainian law enforcement officers.

The traitors were not doing this for free. Russian handlers paid them from USD 2 to 15 thousand per assignment. The payments depended on the level of secrecy and importance of collected data.

The SSU established that two FSB officers recruited the official of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2012 during a trip to russia.

The official returned from that trip with an operational code name, a mobile phone for communication and the task to collect secret information circulating in the Cabinet.

The spy either printed out secret documents or photographed them and stored on a flash drive.

To pass the files, he arranged a meeting with his ‘liaison’ - an employee of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry - through a secure Telegram channel.

The ‘liaison’ agent was recruited in moscow by officers of the 5th service of the FSB. This employee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry later received his instructions in the temporarily occupied Simferopol.

The SSU has identified one of those who trained this spy: Yuriy Vodolazkiy, employee of the 5th service of the FSB.
