SSU exposes kiva’s associate on adjusting missile strikes on Dnipro and ‘hunting’ for location of Ukrainian air defence systems

In the course of counter-sabotage efforts in Dnipropetrovsk region, the SSU detained a russian agent who passed to the enemy information on location and movement of Ukrainian troops in the region.

The detained traitor was a close associate of ex-MP illia kiva, who is hiding abroad from justice for crimes against Ukraine.

The agent stayed in Dnipro after russia began its full-scale invasion to conduct sabotage.

His main target was to identify and pass to the aggressor the geolocation of Ukrainian air defence units.

According to the investigation, the traitor is a local IT businessman who met kiva in 2014. At the traitor-MP’s suggestion, the entrepreneur headed one of the city civil associations, which is controlled by the leadership of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party.

He began to massively involve ‘like-minded people’ in the organization to participate in mass events in support of the above mentioned pro-russian political force and carry out provocations to destabilize the situation in the region.

After the full-scale aggression started, the associate of the ‘fifth column’ remained in Dnipro to fulfil further ‘instructions’ of his accomplice who fled abroad.

The agent collected information on location and movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and passed coordinates of critical infrastructure facilities to the invaders.

Anonymous Telegram channels were used to transmit intelligence.

In his ‘reports’, he included photos and video footage, obtained through covert surveillance. Each of them was accompanied by a detailed description of the nearby territory and characteristics.

The enemy used this intelligence to carry out missile attacks on the city and plan sabotage.

During the searches at the offender’s home, the SSU found mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of passing intelligence to the enemy.

The SSU notified the detainee of suspicion of crime under Article 111.2 of the CCU. The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk Region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Dnipropetrovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
