Operatives of the SBU Main Department of Internal Security exposed employee of the Service involved in the illegal transfer of information constituting a state secret.

It was established that the defendant, on behalf of foreign "curators", was collecting secret information for foreign special services. He had to pass collected information through an intermediary.

Law enforcement officers detained an employee of the Service while handing over a flash drive with secret information to the "courier" for passing abroad.

During investigations in the offenders’ residences other evidence of unlawful actions were found.

Both offenders were served notices of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a custody was chosen as a restraint measure.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Measures to expose and block illegal activities were carried out jointly with investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigations under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the supervision of war crimes and in the defense industry of the Prosecutor General's Office.
