SSU serves new suspicion notice to head of fake ‘russia’s election commission in Kherson region’
The SSU has documented new crimes of collaborator Maryna Zakharova, head of the occupation ‘central election commission’ in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson oblast.
Zakharova is one of the main organizers of the kremlin’s fake plebiscite in the occupied districts in early September this year.
Earlier, the SSU notified her of suspicion of aiding the aggressor in holding the sham referendum in 2022.
At that time, she received an ‘order of honour’ from gauleiter Saldo for her personal ‘contribution’ to spreading of the occupation regime in southern Ukraine.
This time, the ‘commission head’ also fulfilled moscow’s task of creating an appearance of an ‘electoral process’ and falsifying it in favour of the kremlin’s puppet candidates.
At Zakharova’s initiative, representatives of the ‘territorial election commissions’, together with armed russian servicemen, made door-to-door visits to local homes, forcing the residents to ‘vote’.
She engaged her ‘deputy’ Serhii Vysotin and the so-called ‘election commission secretary’ Iryna Kravchenko in organizing the unlawful activities.
SSU investigators have now notified all three enemy accomplices of suspicion under Article 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration).
The suspects are hiding from prosecution in the temporarily occupied territory. Comprehensive efforts to bring them to justice are underway.
The offenders are facing up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The SSU Kherson Office carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
