SSU exposes ex-lawyer who worked for PMC Wagner's Telegram channel and called to seize power in Ukraine

In Kyiv, the SSU cyber units have exposed a former lawyer who publicly called for a forceful seizure of state power in Ukraine. His hostile messages were picked up by the Internet resources of russian intelligence services and used to undermine the situation and demoralize Ukrainian soldiers at the front.

According to the investigation, the ex-lawyer presented himself as an ‘opinion leader’ and provoked people to public unrest under the guise of ‘protest’ rallies.

To do this, the offender recorded numerous videos, which he posted on his YouTube channel with an audience of over 100,000 users.

In these videos, he tried to discredit Ukraine’s top military and political leadership and incited citizens to take forceful actions to overthrow constitutional order.

The ‘videos’ were immediately picked up by russian Internet resources, including the Wagner mercenaries’ Telegram channels.

Enemy propagandists presented the pseudo-activist’s stories as the ‘attitude’ of ordinary Ukrainian citizens and tried to tarnish Ukraine’s international image.

The examination conclusions have confirmed the suspect’s subversive activities for the benefit of the aggressor state.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the individual in question a notice of suspicion under Article 109.2 of the CCU (public calls for forceful change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power, as well as dissemination of materials calling for such actions).

The court is to decide on a measure of restraint for the suspect, who is facing imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
