SSU exposes enemy informant who guided russian missile at residential building in Mykolaiv
The SSU has exposed another spotter, who helped russians adjust air attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Occupiers used his information to launch a missile strike on a residential high-rise building in Mykolaiv in the autumn of 2022.
The strike killed 8 civilians, including a child.
According to the investigation, the traitor is a local resident, recruited by russian intelligence in August 2022.
The man came to the attention of the invaders because of his pro-kremlin activity in one of the Telegram channels, where he regularly posted his anti-Ukrainian comments.
Working as a taxi driver, he drove around Mykolaiv and recorded locations and movements of the Defence Forces in the area.
The offender tried to gain trust of his passengers and asked them about movements of Ukrainian military equipment.
The enemy informant also passed to occupiers coordinates of civilian infrastructure facilities located near residential buildings.
For each completed assignment, the agent received up to UAH 5,000 (USD 132) to his bank card.
During the search of his home, the SSU found the mobile phone he used to communicate with the aggressor.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Articles 27.5, 28.2, 438.2 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war).
The suspect is in custody. The investigation is underway.
The offender is facing up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
The SSU Office in Mykolaiv region exposed the offender under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
