Zakarpattia region: SBU exposes agitprops disseminating anti-Hungarian leaflets
The SBU exposed three organizers of the distribution of anti-Hungarian leaflets, who turned out to be internally displaced persons from the city of Luhansk. The suspects agreed to carry out subversive activities by the orders of Russian curators for as little as USD 500.
The perpetrators pasted up leaflets threatening the Hungarian national minority in the city of Berehovo, Zakarpattia region. To achieve a "special effect", Russian curators asked to do so on the eve of the May holidays.
The SBU officers found out that the suspects received money on bank cards in Russian rubles (about USD 500).
During the searches of the suspects’ residences and places of detention, the law enforcement officers seized Russian symbols, as well as other evidence proving the illegal activities.
The perpetrators received the suspicion notices. The issue of choosing a type of detention is being settled.
The operation was carried out by the SBU Offices in Zakarpattia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, coordinated by the SBU Department for Protection of National Statehood together with the Main Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia region under the supervision of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
