SSU takes part in joint exercises: tackling illicit migrants ‘breaking through’ Belarus border

The SSU has taken part in multi-stage interagency special drills to combat illegal migration. The exercise was conducted in Zhytomyr region near the state border with Belarus.

Security agencies practiced algorithms of joint actions in the event of illicit migrants breaking through the border.

To identify and record the ‘violations’, participants of the training used modern technical devices, including UAVs.

The drills were held in the conditions as close to reality as possible.

According to the scenario, several groups of illicit migrants try to cross the state border illegally to Ukrainian territory. The law enforcement agencies disrupt these attempts.

Another phase of the training was to screen the detained ‘offenders’ to identify potential terrorists.

The SSU, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard as well as representatives of executive authorities and local government participated in the exercise.
