SSU blocks assets of russian energy company that illegally imported goods to Ukraine
The SSU continues to expose criminal schemes of pro-kremlin corporations that finance armed aggression against Ukraine.
As a result of operational and investigative efforts in Chernihiv region, the SSU shut down a mechanism of illegal selling of fuel and lubricants produced in russia.
A Ukrainian company, which is a subsidiary of the kremlin’s financial-industrial group Gazprom, is involved in the scheme.
This ‘branch’ of the russian monopolist was selling in Ukraine wholesale batches of russian motor oils and other car maintenance products, which were illegally imported to our country.
In addition, after the capture of part of Chernihiv region, the enemy used the territory of this enterprise for basing personnel and military equipment of the occupation forces.
Based on the collected evidence, the SSU initiated seizure of corporate rights, real estate and vehicle fleet of the russian-controlled company.
The total amount of seized assets is over UAH 35 mln (USD 860,000).
To conceal the sale of russian products, the business sold them under the brands of Ukrainian manufacturers. Most of the profits were transferred to the aggressor state.
During 14 searches in the company’s offices and production premises as well as suspects’ homes, the law enforcement found:
- large batches of russian goods prepared for sale;
- accounting documents, computers and mobile phones with evidence of unlawful activities.
The criminal proceedings were opened under the Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1.4 (collaboration);
- 110-2.4 (financing of actions committed with the aim of forcible change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of borders of the territory or state border of Ukraine)
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the offences and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The SSU and the National Police exposed and blocked the scheme under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
