Kirovohrad region: SBU shuts down interregional anti-Ukrainian network
The SBU exposed and blocked activities of a large-scale anti-Ukrainian network. The organizers established illegal local authorities in Kirovohrad region.
Allegedly, a group of individuals tried to establish “alternative” local self-government authorities in the region, duplicating the names of existing amalgamated territorial communities (ATCs). To legalize the illegal entity, the authorized representatives made fake registration documents, statutes, seals and certificates.
The organizers created an account in a social media to call on local residents to join pseudo-state authorities. In particular, SBU officers documented that the suspects sent e-mails to enterprises and institutions on behalf of pseudo-ATCs demanding to transfer property to the ATC’s balance.
By such actions, the perpetrators attempted to undermine the socio-political situation in the regions.
During searches, law enforcement officers seized mobile phones and computers, documents of newly created pseudo-local authorities, as well printed materials proving the illegal activity.
The criminal proceedings were initiated for unauthorized assuming of an office or official title. Urgent investigative actions are ongoing.
The operation was carried out jointly with the National Police.
To remind, the SBU blocked the activities of an extensive anti-Ukrainian network at the end of 2020.
