SSU blocks another 5 mobilization evasion schemes: theatre director from Kropyvnytskyi among suspects
The SSU has blocked another five schemes of evading mobilization and illegal departure of men abroad.
8 organizers, including a theatre director and an official of a civil registry office, were detained in several regions.
For money, they offered to help conscripts evade the draft and flee abroad using fake documents.
The cost of ‘services’ reached USD 10,000.
In Kyiv:
The SSU Counterintelligence detained two Kyiv residents who helped potential conscripts cross to the EU using forged documents.
The perpetrators were looking for ‘clients’ among their acquaintances and offered them several ‘ways of departure’.
For example, they arranged for the evaders to become drivers of international transport. Their personal data was entered into the Shliakh system as carriers of medical supplies and humanitarian goods.
For an additional fee, the organizers sold fake residence permits for a neighbouring EU country.
Another scheme included a fake exit stamp, which allowed the draft evaders to cross the border by bus.
In Kirovohrad region:
A director of a regional theatre was detained for hiring draft dodgers as actors.
In this way, he arranged a deferral from mobilization for those liable for military service.
In Dnipro:
The law enforcement uncovered a lawyer who offered potential recruits to arrange a fictitious marriage or guardianship over a person with a disability.
He involved four accomplices, including an official of a local civil registry office.
After the ‘marriage’ registration, the evader accompanied the woman with a disability on a trip abroad, supposedly for her treatment. A few hours later, the ‘wife’ returned to Ukraine.
Later, she would get a divorce and register a new ‘marriage’.
Investigations are ongoing.
The operations were conducted jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the prosecutor’s offices.
