SBU blocks attempt to export drug-containing medicines
The SBU blocked an attempt to illegally export a consignment of drug-containing medicines at the Boryspil International Airport.
SBU operatives jointly with employees of the customs post “Boryspil Airport” seized over 3,000 blisters worth at least UAH 700,000 (USD 25,000) at black market prices. Based on the inspection results, the SBU drew up a report on violation of customs rules.
Law enforcement established that the organizers, in violation of customs rules, tried to deliver the medicines by transit to one of the Gulf countries. The accomplice hid the consignment of drugs from customs control in personal belongings.
As of now, all persons involved in the illegal deal are being identified. The issue of initiating criminal proceedings is being resolved.
The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Economic Interests jointly with representatives of the Boryspil Airport customs post of the Kyiv Customs.
