SBU documents large-scale “LNR” financing scheme

The SBU exposed an illegal scheme of financing the Russian occupation administration in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region. The organizers illegally sent to the aggressor country the products of the Ukrainian enterprise seized by the IAF.

The SBU documented that for several years PJSC “Stakhanov Wagon Plant” supplied products to Russian enterprises. It was established that the components manufactured by the plant were exported across an uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian state border. The plant paid “taxes” to the so-called LNR administration.

In particular, in 2018 the company transferred to the IAF “budget” more than RUB 1 million (USD 13,000). According to SBU operatives, the plant’s funding for the occupying power and pro-Russian terrorists totals tens of millions of rubles.

The SBU served the ex-head of the plant a notice of suspicion of financing actions aimed at changing of the territory or state border of Ukraine.

The offender is wanted nationwide.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions in coordination and jointly with the SBU Main Directorate of Counterintelligence Protection of the State’s Interests in the Sphere of Economic Security.

The investigation is ongoing upon the fact of trespass against integrity and inviolability of Ukraine under supervision of Luhansk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
